OpTic Gaming Wins MLG X GAMES
OpTic Gaming went into the Gold Medal match knowing that they could definitely go on and win the event after beating the World Champions, Evil Geniuses in a thrilling 3-1 series. No matter what came from this final match, OpTic Gaming were still guaranteed a silver medal at the first ever X Games for eSports.
Both Team Kaliber and OpTic Gaming had played phenomenally throughout the weekend, but it came down to one final best of five series. Game on featured Freight Domination and Team Kaliber came out very strong looking to set the tone. From the break, Team Kaliber were squashing OpTic with every move that they were making.
OpTic managed to turn things around and going into the half only down by seven points, but they did not look as strong as the aggressive tK squad. OpTic came back early in the second side by managing to hold down two flags. However, tK quickly responded and managed to hold down a triple cap which sailed them away with the first win of the series.
It is worth nothing that Nadeshot performed exceptionally well in this game and even managed to collect an ace that featured an insane three piece in the middle of the map. This win was very similar to the one that they had earlier against EG and definitely gave them momentum going to game 3.
The two teams were tied at 1 series point apiece so they went back into the respawn game mode, Warhawk Blitz to see who would have the upper hand in the series. OpTic showed up in the first two minutes of the game as they managed to get a quick 3-0 lead thanks to captures from Nadeshot, Scump and Clayster.
With a big two piece from Nadeshot right in Team Kaliber's base, he managed to secure another cap and OpTic went into the half with a 5-2 lead. Team Kaliber did reduce their deficit and brought it to 5-3, but in the dying moments of Blitz, OpTic scored twice to have a 4 point lead mathematically to win the game.
Team Kaliber would ahve to win the Strikezone Domination in order to force OpTic Gaming to a Game 5 Search and Destroy. They had a very strong first side as they managed to hold down the map and go into the second side with a comfortable 85-67 point lead over the OpTic Gaming team.
Despite a valiant effort from OpTic, the tK side were just too strong for them to break and they managed to force a Game 5 Seach and Destroy. Neslo had managed to collect a total of 30 kills and finished the game off with 30 kills and only 19 deaths which helped his team take it to the Game 5 of the series.
It all came down to Sovereign Search and Destroy to determine who would be the winner of the first ever X Games. OpTic took a commanding lead in the Search and Destroy and managed to put themselves up three rounds over Team Kaliber.
OpTic went up 5-2 before Neslo came storming back into the game, winning a 1v1 and also clutching an insane 1v2 in Round 9. The match began to have a very intense feeling as OpTic look to avoid any sort of comeback from tK.
In the last twenty seconds of Round 10, Goonjar was left all alone against Clayster and he had to plant the bomb to extend the round. Instead of planting, Goonjar tried to find the kill Clayster to win the round, but failed as Clay stormed in with his shotgun and gave OpTiC the first ever Gold Medal for eSports at the X Games.
Looking at the OpTic Gaming history, we cann see that this was Nadeshot's first ever MLG championship along with that, he managed to acquire the Gold medal with his teammates Clayster, Proofy and Scump.
After that incredible tournament win, the OpTic Gaming lineup will be looking to jump straight back into their daily grind. On June 20th they will begin their MLG Anaheim campaign, which they could potentially go on and win after this impressive outing at the X Games.

CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL: COMPLEXITY VS TEAM ENVYUS
The finals began on Strikezone Domination as both teams were hyped up and eager to win. EnVyUs played well with StuDyy getting a huge 3-piece on the B flag, but Aches responded well with a 2-piece on A. Eventually CompLexity narrowly took the first side with a score of 80-70. Into the second half, CompLexity continued their lead with TeePee scoring vital 2-pieces allowing his team access to the all important B flag. Aches carried the team with a finishing score of 19-14-1. While EnVyUs tried to keep up the pace, it was CompLexity who came out on top, winning the second half 83-69 and bringing the total score to 163-139.
Game two took place on Freight Search & Destroy as EnVyUs were looking to even out the series, and CompLexity were eager to make it 2-0. While the teams initially traded rounds, it was EnvyUs who took the lead mid game, with Nameless (14-9) having an incredible game. Not known to choke a game though, CompLexity soon fought back, winning two crucial rounds to make the game 4-4. They then extended the lead and took the game 6-5, which brought the series 2-0. CompLexity were now only one game away from the coveted $400,000 prize.
Warhawk Blitz was the stage for map 3, and all CompLexity needed to do was win this to severe themselves the title. It started off well in their favor, as TeePee impressed with a 11-7-3 score. CompLexity's momentum despite an impressive 2-piece from Nameless and the game drew to a close with an 8-2 score in favor of CompLexity making them the well deserved 2014 Call of Duty Champions.

US REGIONAL GRAND FINAL - STRICTLY BUSINESS VS. COMPLEXITY
Strictly Business and CompLexity met in a best of 11 continuation series to determine the winner of the US Call of Duty Championship. The series started out 3-0 in favor of sB.
The first map, Strikezone Domination, was held by sB extremely well. They held two flags for the majority of the game, and with the help of Saints' 33 total kills, they increased their series lead to 4-0.
The series advanced to Freight Search and Destroy where Strictly Business continued to do the seemingly impossible and take yet another map off CompLexity. Apathy, Dedo and Saints all did very well on that particular map going 8-5,9-3, and 9-6. Dedo also clutched a 1v1 scenario which was a turning point for sB in the map. This brought the victory within one round for Strictly Business Gaming.
As Strictly Business found themselves one map away from dethroning CompLexity and becoming the US Champions, it came to Warhawk Blitz. The game was back and forth until the last three minutes of game time when coL managed to capitalize on Crimsix's slaying with 32 kills to win the game 5-4.
As the two teams squared off on Octane Domination coL jumped off to an incredible lead of 51 points it seemed that the map was all over. But sB made a miraculous comeback to get the game within one point and were thwarted in the end by CompLexity slayers to saver a near 51 point choke for coL, winning by one point to stay alive in the series, making it 5-2.
Strictly Business, still one map away from victory faced off against coL in Warhawk Search and Destroy. The beginning was all CompLexity, going up 4-1 over sB and were attempting to close out the game right there. However, sB refused to go down and rallied to force a round 11 overtime. In the overtime sB played very patiently, forcing coL out of their spots to win the round with individual picks.
With that, Strictly Business Gaming are your 2014 United States Champions. They, and seven other teams from the USA will compete in the Call of Duty World Championships with teams from around the world on March 28-30.
